All trailer sites offer 30 AMP electric and water hookups. Some sites also have septic hookup. Please check individual site details when booking.
All sites include new, modern picnic tables and fire rings. No grills are provided.

Campfire Shores features four interconnected trails that allow you to mix and match your route for a variety of scenic loops and distances. All of the trails wind through wooded areas and showcase unique habitats—including wetlands, cedar swamps, sand dunes, and fens. Expect moderate elevation changes with some gentle ups and downs, but nothing too strenuous.

Please note: Some sections of the trails are seasonally wet, so sturdy, waterproof footwear is highly recommended. We're currently working on adding boardwalks across low-lying areas, but in the meantime, be ready for a little mud—or choose to stick to the drier stretches.

Our trails offer a truly special experience, with mossy forest floors, spring wildflowers, vibrant mushrooms, and the occasional dune climb for those who want a bit more elevation.

Yes! All sites are available year-round. Water hookups are only available roughly mid-May – late October pending weather, but electricity is available at the sites and the bathhouse is open year-round. If water at the site is critical to your stay, please give us a call or email to check on its status in October and/or May.

We encourage campers to unplug and enjoy nature! While we don't currently offer Wi-Fi on site, most major carriers have pretty reliable cell service at the campground. We do plan to add Wi-Fi access in the near future.

Yes! Whether you're visiting with a group or just enjoy meeting fellow campers, Campfire Shores offers a few relaxed gathering areas—with more on the way. You'll find outdoor seating and yard games set up near the west end of the campground, just a short walk from the bathhouse.

Looking ahead, we're excited to unveil a large event pavilion at the east end of the campground in spring 2026. This space will host both public and private events and feature amenities like a bar, live music, games, and guided hikes.

Yes. Currently firewood is available for sale near the office when staff is around, or you can pre-order it to your campsite with your reservation. We will be installing a firewood sales locker system in the spring of 2026.

Not yet – but a camp store is in the works for the near future! In the meantime, Campfire Shores is conveniently located just 1.5 miles from downtown Manistique, where you'll find a full-service grocery store, hardware stores, local shops, and a variety of restaurants to choose from.

We are Campfire Shores for a reason – we love campfires! Campfires are allowed in designated fire rings, unless a burn ban is in effect. Please never leave fires unattended.

No, Campfire Shores is not staffed around the clock. However, we do have part-time staff available, and all campers are provided with a phone number for check-in, check-out, and general assistance. You're welcome to call or text that number with any questions, concerns, or updates. Yes! We love helping guests plan memorable events. Email us to talk about your plans—we'll let you know what's possible.
Please report any issues to campground staff immediately. Damage to amenities will be your financial responsibility, but we appreciate knowing quickly so we can get it fixed for you and also not have it impact the next guest. If you simply notice something damaged, dirty, or dangerous, please also report that to us quickly via the phone number used to check in and out.
Your first night's fee and tax will be charged to your credit card at the time of booking. Final balance is due at check-in. Guests must check in with staff via text or phone call upon arrival and pay the remaining balance. There will be a $200 security hold placed on your credit card upon arrival. If no damages are found or additional charges incurred, it will be released.

We've worked hard to restore and maintain the beauty of Campfire Shores while adding modern comforts for all to enjoy. The $200 incidental hold helps protect the campground by encouraging responsible use of the sites and amenities. If damage does occur to site infrastructure or shared facilities, this hold allows us to make timely repairs and continue providing a high-quality experience for all campers.

Note: This is a temporary hold—not a charge—and is released after your stay, provided no damage is reported, much like when you stay in a hotel.

There are not ATV trails within the campground itself, but Campfire Shores has direct access to a county-maintained trail that forms the north boundary of our property. This trail connects to hundreds of miles of ATV and snowmobile trails throughout Michigan's Upper Peninsula. We offer a designated ATV parking area at the east end of the campground. For everyone's safety, ATVs are not permitted on the campground drive or within the campsites.

All pets must be kept on a leash at all times, including on the hiking trails, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after them. For your convenience, pet waste stations with bags are located at the trailheads. We also ask that pets observe quiet hours to help ensure a peaceful experience for all guests.

Big things! We have exciting plans for a partial demolition and full renovation of the front building. Once completed, the space will serve as a vibrant event center for both private gatherings—like weddings, reunions, and meetings—and public events such as live music, movie nights, fitness classes, art shows, and holiday celebrations.

The renovated building will also include a bar and lounge area, a camp store, and several rental suites for groups and families seeking a more modern stay during their time in the Upper Peninsula.
